Lighting the Way
Christopher Radko Collection | 1998
Limited edition oil painting | Edition of 500
Lighting the Way portrays Santa beneath a star-filled sky, carrying a glowing lantern that illuminates his journey through the Christmas night. Dressed in a rich red coat trimmed with pale fur, he holds a small evergreen adorned with colorful ornaments. Dolls, a teddy bear, and other toys peek out from behind his shoulder and along his side, while a crescent moon hangs overhead. The deep blue background contrasts with the lantern’s golden light, giving the scene a sense of warmth and quiet anticipation.
Issued in 1998, this painting belongs to a collection inspired by Christopher Radko’s personal collection of antique Victorian Christmas cards. Commissioned to bring the warmth and classic elegance of Christmas past into the home, these works celebrate traditional holiday imagery through richly detailed oil paintings.
The visible painting measures 36 inches high by 24 inches wide and is presented in a substantial, hand-gilded solid oak frame. Its generous scale and decorative presentation make it a striking focal point for a Christmas display or a year-round collection.
Held in the SBK Gifts archive, Lighting the Way is now being offered for sale. The painting arrives framed and ready to hang.
A gold-tone identification plaque set into the frame records the painting’s title, year, Christopher Radko Collection, and limited edition information. A certificate of authenticity accompanies the painting.
