Layaway Program

Our Layaway Program offers customers the opportunity to place virtually any item on layaway by making small payments over an extended period of time of 6 months. Layaway makes it easy to shop online or in the store for the entire year. You do not have to wait for Christmas time for layaway options to open. With Story Book Kids layaway, make payments on birthday gifts or anniversary gifts at any time in the year that is convenient for you.This is an EXCELLENT opportunity for any gift-giving 'WANTS'!!

Layaway Overview

Creating a layaway is easy. You can create an online layaway anytime, day or night or in the store during  our regular retail business hours. Items placed on layaway are kept at our Cincinnati store until the balance is paid off in full. There is a minimum purchase of $100 required for any layaway. Layaway payment terms consist of a 20% non-refundable deposit of the total price of your order plus all applicable taxes. The remaining balance consists of 5 automatic payments billed to your Credit Card on file on the 15th of each month.

How To Create An Online Layaway With SBK Gifts

    1. Shop our online web store adding items you wish to put in layaway in your shopping cart.
    2. When you have added all the items for layaway into your cart, proceed to 'CHECKOUT'.
    3. You will be directed through a series of pages where you will enter the necessary information to complete set-up of your layaway.  This includes: Customer Information, Shipping Method and Payment Method.
    4. Complete in full the customer information and the shipping method desired when the layaway is paid in full and shipped.
    5. When you arrive to the payment method page, select "MONTHLY LAYAWAY PAYMENTS' and then 'COMPLETE ORDER". Note: No monies are collected at this point. You will need to contact us to provide payment information for your deposit.
    6. You will receive a confirmation of your layaway request on the screen after you select 'COMPLETE ORDER'.
    7. To finalize the layaway set-up, call us within 72 hours on our toll free telephone number, 1-877-607-2356. Have your order number available along with the credit card ready.  Our customer service staff will collect the billing information and complete the set up of your layaway. Your 20% layaway deposit will be billed that day.
    8. In the event the layaway 20% deposit is not completed within 72 hours, the layaway will be canceled and the items will be returned to stock and made available for sale again.

Online layaway's are processed during our regular retail business hours.  As a convenience, monthly payments are processed on the 15th of each month and applied to your layaway. Once the final layaway payment has been made and the items are paid in full, 1) online layaway's are shipped immediately and package tracking information is sent to your email OR 2) in-store layaway customers are called and informed their layaway is ready for pick up. All layaways must be paid in full within 6 months..

Layaway Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your layaway order at anytime by notifying Story Book Kids. You must cancel the order in person at our Cincinnati store or in writing by email.  Partial cancellations are NOT permitted. In the event you request a layaway cancellation before the end of six (6) months, you will receive a refund of your payments made to date to the Credit Card on file minus the 20% non-refundable deposit.

Your order will be automatically cancelled if there is no payment activity on your account for three (3) consecutive months. All merchandise is returned to stock.  All monies are forfeited. No refund will be issued.

1. How long is the Story Book Kids Layaway Plan?

Our layaway plan is 6 months in duration and require a minimum of $100 in merchandise (shipping fee, taxes etc. not included).

2. Is there a service fee to put product in layaway?

No, it is FREE! There is no service fee when you use our layaway program.

3. How do the payments work?

A 20% non-refundable deposit of the total price of your order plus all applicable taxes is charged to your credit card when the layaway is processed. The remaining balance consists of 5 automatic payments billed to your Credit Card on file on the 15th of each month.

EXAMPLE OF LAYAWAY PAYMENT TERMS

You place 3 items in layaway on July 5th.  The total amount of the merchandise in layaway is $200.

4. Am I required to place a credit card on file for payments?

Yes, per the guidelines of our layaway program, your Credit Card must be on file at Story Book Kids for automatic payments to be charged each month.

5. What if I miss a layaway payment?

If, for any reason, you miss a payment or your credit card is declined, a late fee is applied to your layaway balance. The late fee is a minimum of $5.00 OR 10% of your remaining balance, whichever is greater.

6. Can I pay off my layaway early?

Yes, of course! You do have the option to pay in full early if you'd like to receive it prior to the six (6) months with no penalties for early payment.

7. Do you offer price adjustments on items in layaway?

No, we are unable to make price adjustments on items place in layaway.

8. Can I cancel my layaway?

Yes, you can cancel your layaway but no partial cancellations are permitted. All layaway items will be returned to stock. You will receive a refund of your payments made to date minus the 20% non-refundable deposit.

9. Can I add items, remove items or change my layaway?

We do not allow changes or additions to an existing layaway. If you wish to make changes, you will need to cancel and open a new layaway. Layaway cancellations may result in our standard layaway cancellation policy.

10. How many layaways can I have at one time?

That's your call. We don't limit the number of layaways you may have at any one time. You can have as many layaways as you'd like as long as none of your layaways with us are delinquent. They all have to meet the $100 merchandise minimum and once established, you cannot add, delete or exchange items. A monthly payment must be made on each layaway per the payment terms of the layaway program or it is subject to cancellation per the layaway cancellation policy.
